ok i have a all black max with tan i30 seats, the seats and leather are in good condition. but i have one major problem, now i want black leather interior!
is there any way that i can dye the seats black? i dont want to invest in another pair of leather seats! any advice besides buying black seats?

 

You can dye the seats but the dye starts wearing off after a few years. One of the people I buy detailing products from is also the ColorGlo rep in the Dallas area. He does leather re-dye but says it isn't permanent.

Why not pick up an Auto Trader, they usually have a salvage section in the back, or just call around wrecking yards in your area and you might find a wrecked I30 with the interior you want.

 

i tried looking for the interior at junk yard and forums that support my surrounding area and it wasnt worth it! the people that did have it wanted 400. and up for it. and no one is willing to swap black leather for tan leather.
could you get more info on the re-dye for me? can i do it my self, price, does it fade onto clothing, does it bleed when it get wet, and in the summer?

 

I am sure you can find leather dye kits online or contact Color Glo and see if they sell smaller consumer kits. Once the re-dye is dry, it stays dry.

 

why not just have it reapolstered??

i priced the reapolstery of the seats and that was a pocket breaker as well! even in vinyl.

 

It'll cost you a few hundred dollars to swap your interior because you need to do more than the seats.

You have to do the dash, the center console, the carpets, and the door panels as well.
