ScratchX too abrasive for interior panels?

Have a few scratches on my dash pieces near the vents from my GPS falling off

Can I use ScratchX to buff it out? Or too much for interior pieces? I'm talking about the hard plastic panels (ash tray door, vent surround).

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That "plastic" will very easily chip/peel the silver color that it has on it. I remember detailing a Suburban a while ago and what I thought was "tar" on the plastic was actually a small spec of paint missing...and when I used bug&tar remover... let's just say it didn't help too much.

From Google, apparently I can heat up the area with a hair dryer then press the scratch out with my finger O_O

Going to try it this weekend, I hope all goes well.
