Degreasing with hose, what to cover?

I am gonna degrease the engine bay with degreasing spray and a hose. What components should I cover? Alternator, intake and coilpacks?

I only covered my intake filter. Stepped back a few feet and used a mist/fan setting on the nozzle. I can post a link of my most recent engine detail if you want.

the whole engine bay is covered in plastic. Obviously less things to cover up than a maxima. Same things still apply to both applications though.

I've never covered anything but an exposed air filter. spray, scrub with plastic brush, wait, rinse with water hose. let dry. drive.

I've used the same method for every car I've done. With or without plastics. I think you'll be safe as long as you don't blast anything with the hose full strength.
