Well first you need to ask yourself...are you wanting to wetsand to get rid of some orange peel or some surface scratches? If you want to make the job easy 3M has the trizact 3000 pad for a DA (dual action sander) and if you want to get rid of some peel I would take a soft flexible block with 2000grit paper, be gentle as most factory paint it is easy to sand through the clear especially on curves. Then run the trizact over the top of that. Then assuming you have a good buffer I would use either the Meguiars or 3M 3 step system (compound, polish, ultrafine polish if on dark colored car) also make sure you have the right pads for the job on your buffer. Wetsanding is not as complicated as a lot of people make it out to be it's just time consuming and you need to make sure you have the right tools/products if you really want high quality results.
