Getting someone elses paint off my bumper

So some idiot in DC apparently bumped into my 4th gen while I was parked getting breakfast. I have trace elements of his paint on my bumper now. ANybody have any good ideas on how to get it off and restore my finish to what it once was (and it was great!)

Rub it off with some laquer/paint thinner. It will leave a haze after that, so wipe it off with a damp rag and then wax over it. If you have some scratches you'll probably have to buff those out.

i suggest polishing compound from tutle wax.. has worked for me in the past. should be agressive enough to remove what you need, and not leave a haze that requires more work..

If its just on the surface, rubbing compound will take it right off. I would suggest good 3M compound like we use to buff cars with. The over the counter stuff you can buy at Autozone doesn't work as well from my experience. But anytime I've dealt with a scuff/scrape rubbing compound usually takes care of the surface marks.

Safest way would be using an abrasive clay bar, but may need some elbow grease and a lot of patience. Mr clean magic eraser will remove it, but make sure to rinse it asap to avoid further damage.

The best way to get paint transfer off is too get a magic eraser and a pail of water. Dip the magic eraser into the pail of water in scrub the paint transfer like you're trying to wash your car. With moderate scrubbing and a minimum amount of time you can have your car restored to previous glory. You may want to re wax that area of the vehicle to get the shine back.
