My stock 97 SE 5 speed dyno results.

I dynoed the car at the beginning of the month, but at the time it felt a bit weaker than normal after using a gas station that apparently had issues.

I went back today to re-dyno the car, which now had 93 Texaco in the tank.

Red is the last stock dyno, blue was today's stock dyno run.

Pretty big difference from just putting in not so good gas.

I am going to run the car at the track next Saturday, stock, before I start the mods the following week.

That is a HUGE difference...what did you use before? The lowest octane? You didn't do anything to your car within the month that you dyno'd it?

+5hp/+8tq is a little hard to believe if you were using the same octane. That must be some horrible gas you got.

-Great #s too, btw...how many miles?

...Get an intake and a y-pipe. At 6k I am making about +30hp/+25tq more than you...that will definitely help in the 1/4. Can't wait to see what kind of times you get from the track too.

It's almost amusing at how the car falls flat on its face stock.

I put 93 octane gas in at a certain BP and it started running bad. After running that gas out, and filling up somehwere else, problem solved.

The station may be cheating on the octane.

The Maxima has 110K on it.

^^Please never ever use that station again. That sucks that there are places out there that would actually do something like that.

For as many miles as you have those are some really good #s. You take care of your car, that's good to see every once and awhile here.

VeeTec,

first of all, great #'s. I just got a new motor in and I'll be heading towards dynolab soon myself. another thing, maybe you should do something about that BP, I am sick and tired of these bastards thinking they can rip our hard working citizens off like that...do you know of anyone that investigates that sort of thing??? :rant over:

Local news...call them up and demand an investigation. That's a start.

I think their dyno was broken.

(do you have the runviewer files? I just wanted to compare to mine...)

If you are talking about a video of the runs, no. But I will put the link here, and you can save it, and compare.

The pic seems to keep disappearing when linked to image tags.

You may call Dynolab in Marietta, Ga if you would like to verify the runs.

I won't be happy until this car is putting down over 200 fwhp though. On come the mods. Well, after my stock 1/4 runs, which will hopefully be this Saturday.

Runviewer files are the files that are from the dyno machine itself. If you ever dyno again then it is best to get your runviewer files so you can download any information or even zoom in on certain rpms to see what your engine is doing.

You would get that with tuning runs I assume, not with basic h.p. and torque runs.

The 5 lead 02 was not hooked up.

You can get the dyno run files from the PC at the dyno shop. There is a utility on the Dynojet website that you can download for free to open the run files with and basically get the same graph that they have in the shop and play around with it to see different things. The software is just a viewer so it does not have ALL the functionality that the software in the shop has, but it has all that you would need.
