I forgot about the Brake Booster. PCV isn't required though. Mine is disconnected from the IM. I just capped the nipple. That Z hung in there well with the 944? in the SCCA runoffs. Its a real beast. Nice pics.

Yup a MAF to MAP conversion could be done if someone was to put in the time. And Krismax I think the SMT6 can do this.

He's dumped the CVTC and probably using JWT VQ30 cams, if it's going in one of his cars, otherwise just VQ30 stock cams.

To repeat StephenMax, were any modification needed to fit the VQ30 timing cover to the VQ35 block/heads?

Hmmmnnn....this swap sounds PERFECT.

from the chain side there are 3 bolts that hold the cam end cap too the timing cover. the center one is off by like a 1/4 inch needs reamed out too fit, but thats the only problem. Also 3.5 IM needs a TB with cable/tps and a IAC hooked up.

Cool... did you drive it around yet? Does it pull harder with the 3.5 heads/IM?
Any reason you didn't keep the 3.5 timing chain? Why would the 3.0 TC be better? Pathfinder 70mm TB?

Also are you using JWT 3.0 cams rather than VQ35 cams so you didn't pay for them for nothing?

NO its not in yet I had to use the 3.0 chain too be able too use 3.0 ecu. JWT 3.0 cams have more lift than the 3.5s. And im using the 2k2 TB (heavily modded too cable TB)

Tilley would you consider aiding in pumping more fuel and having a higher octane than 93 with the 3.5/3.0 setup?

Would this be beneficial with an 11.5:1 comp thus creating more power?
I was told with that comp and 100 oct you would see substantial gains.

Hey tilleys, if you use 3.5 heads, you'd be using the 3.5 exhaust manifolds as well right? If you do, how would you go about fitting the y pipe? Can a regular y pipe from a 3.0 4th gen fit the 3.5 headers and clear everything, or use a y pipe for the 5.5 gen instead, or would you just make a custom y pipe?

Another thing, you're using a "heavily modded" 2k2 TB, would the 3.0 TB's mounting holes line up on the 3.5 VI or is the modded 2k2 a must?

My god this is even MORE tempting than the 3.5 bottom end hybrid (drooooooooooooools :-D).

use stock manifolds from 3.0. 3.0 tbs will not work without mods on 3.5 IM

thanx. This is some great stuff that you Tilley and SR20 do. So if you run the 3.0 manifolds, does the EGR tube match to the 3.5 intake manifold or do you remove it? Also would one have to run the 3.5 flywheel and clutch or 3.0 stuff?

I would imagine EGR is being plugged up. As far as the flywheel there really isn't a difference except maybe bolt pattern but I think the clutch and pressure plate is larger. Unless Nissan used a more agressive disc material there would be no way for the same clutch from the 3.0 to hold up long term to the power of the 3.5 without being bigger.

Hey Tilley, me and some other Maxima guys down here in Miami were wondering if there was an update on the 3.5 engine/3.0 Timing stuff hybrid motor.
