GTech pro numbers on 2003 Maximas

I used a gtech pro on my car. 2003 6speed, sunroof. Did one 0-60 run in pretty cold weather but above freezing(christmas day) and of course the car was warmed up. Still have original tires with 43k on em. I was in the car and my dad was in the car, the weight I entered may have been off by about 200 lbs. Road was dry. The results were 0-60 in 6.989 i believe which it rounded to 7s with it rating wheel hp minus wind resistance at 155 and torque at 179lbs. I know I could get a better 0-60 time but with the 6 speed you shift right before you hit 60, although i wonder if you hold it to the 6500 redline if it would make it. I'm wondering how those numbers compare to stock 03 maxima numbers on a dyno or if anyone else has used a gtech pro.

What do you think?

Thanks

I think you should get to a dyno.

Those #'s are low...

Typical DJ #'s are ~ 200-204 stock 6MT. With Mustang dynos reading ~12% lower. Not sure on dynapacks etc.

Also, your 0-60 is low too.

I think the best way to find out true #'s are at the track or the dyno, this way there's no question as you run what you brought.

Too many variables come into play when using performance meters like the gtech. The only thing it's good for is comparing "before and after" mod/tuning results and maybe improve your own driving. In order to use this a a somewhat accurate tool, you need to do your test runs on the same road (flat) without any wind and have same gross weight each time you do a run. In other word, just try to keep the driving conditions the same each time you do a run. You CAN NOT compare your results to other cars who's results are measured using different equipment (i.e., dyno, track).

Yeah I thought the numbers were way too low on hp and torque. I know you have to account for other variables because the gtech does. Still I don't think it shout be off by that much. Again I only did one run and feel the launch and some shifting could have been faster. Also it was cold which I believe has an effect and grip with the potenzas although I didn't get much spin as i recall. The gtech also shows you gforces in all directions and one of the best parts is the graphs it shows you when you are done. The graphs can be used to see the torque and hp curves. It also shows you when you shifted and at what time, it shows you the speed you were going during the 0-60 and rpms. I'm gonna do another run if it gets in the high 40s or above.

Put your car on one of these and call it good.

Use it at the track and see how your question gets answered.

I bought a gtech comp, ran it a few times and sold it on ebay about a week after that.. I think its a waste of money... it doesnt compensate for wheel hop/spin etc... I sold it for $10 more I paid horsepower is completely different, basically its own type of scale...

yeah what is a gtec ? for 10-15 dollars you can get several timeslips, not hating... and i like gadgets too, but a quick tear down a 1/4 strip will make you feel like a million bucks !
