My Mustang Dyno #s were approximately 6% lower than my Dyno Jet #s. But this is all depending on what is entered into the computer on a Mustang Dyno, i.e. weight, tire size, etc. "They" say Mustang numbers can range from 6%-12% lower than Dyno Jet numbers.

Approximate Dyno Jet Numbers--
At 6%: 206.06 HP (Dyno Jet) / 207.23 TQ
At 9%: 211.90 HP (Dyno Jet) / 213.10 TQ
At 12%: 217.73 HP (Dyno Jet) / 219.00 TQ

i just got to thinkin about this and if theyre 12% low i think it needs to be a guess and check. my approx #'s that i found were 221 at 12%. using this equation: 221-221(.12)=194.xxx. so i guess its from 217-221.
Tq= 222-222(.12)= 195.36

so therefore...221hp, 222 ft.lbs

Don't guess, get a DJ dyno, this is the intraweb ya know...And you werent tuning.
Some say STD is ~4% higher than SAE, does that mean I put down 242 whp?

I didn't say you were either did I? I was not aware of the price difference, and was wondring why you went on a Mustang dyno.

Hell, someone here with an A34(04+Max) put down 258 IIRC on a Mustang dyno, and then went to a DJ and put down ~ 220, so it's all in how the operator sets you up.

Point being, Mustang dynos are 'better' for tuning since they increase load as speed increases mimicking air resistance.

DJ's are IMO intraweb dynos, meaning they're more bragging rights than anything else.

But I still tune on a DJ but that's just me.

haha. i think the price difference was because of the shops not the dyno. do you think i could possibly gotten screwed by the operator? when the guy was setting my car up it took him somethin like an hour just to get his sh*t straight. guy seemed like he didnt know what he was doin.

Your #'s seem on par with what a Mustang dyno produces xx.x% LOWER, and I believe the 258 on the A34 was an anomaly. So with that said, it seems as if he set up your car properly (besides the 3600+ weight )

I pay 85$/hour or for 4 runs w/tailsniffer A/f.
40$ for one run, 55$ for 2 runs, and 70 for 3 runs. Weird and , but ah well.

You need to pay to play the interweb dyno game...

We do what we can afford etc...

You'll always be lower than all the DJ dynos so conversions mean absolutely nothing since you never know how or what paramters are kept constant re: your last run.

On a DJ, you'll save that hour it took him to hook it up.

DJ--->Strap car down, insert tail sniffer, connect RPM signal, and you're off Prep time is less than 10 minutes.

I don't even think there's a Mustang dyno in my state come to think of it.
