166 HP, 179 TQ - 1996 I30t Auto

Hey guys,

Here is my baserun on an I30t with an Auto transmission:
Place Racing CAI
Budget Y and B piping
5.5 gen muffler(lol)
Tranny cooler

I think I'm going to switch to a frankencar setup for the intake until I can get an 00VI or a MEVI.

I also have a VAFC 2 installed ready to tune, and my OBD II reader just came in, so I can do some datalogging of some runs.

Strong #'s. Do you have cat converter in place?

Do you have the runfiles? Why did they not run it to 6550? From the looks of it, they left it in "D". This can be seen by the 'swirl' @ 3350 and also the early cut (~6k). It is a 3rd run ultimately, verified by speed.

It will be difficult to compare much (00VI/MEVI) since you did not advise them to rev higher/further during the run.

Hey NmexMax,

I did run it with the cat in place and I do have to runfiles, but nowhere to host them. The car was run in D with OD off. I won't be doing a MEVI and 00VI this year, as I've got my wedding and house closing in August, so the finances are tight. I will switch from a PRCAI to a Frankencar and dyno that change. Right now, I'm glad that those were the numbers I got from an auto.

Thanks for the encouragement, it's appreciated!

Looks like you're well on your way for more than just happy modding. But I still think they should have taken it further .

Anyhow, again, strong torque #'s.

These are SAE, that can be seen on the upper right hand corner of the graph. This gives you the smoothing and correction factor.

In your case, SAE corrected(CF), and 5 smoothing factor. (Smoothest)

quick question, how come the curve looks like a rollercoaster loop at one point?

Thanks man. Turns out I can't do anything soon, as I got T-boned last weekend.

It wasn't a bad hit, just the passenger door skins. She was rolling, not accelerating. My car is in the bodyshop.

Thanks man, I should be getting the car back soon. It could have been a lot worse, so I'm thankful that it was a light hit.

I'm going to redyno after I switch to a frankencar intake setup, before I tune it.

Let me know Renny. I'll be in that day, hoping for end of the month. Waiting for my Knock Sensor to come in and going to double check the Vias eventhough it feels fine.

Sounds good Kevin. Are you just looking for two pulls, or are you planning on tuning? The place I'm going to is in east Scarborough. I was planning on doing it before the 400/7 meet, maybe in the early afternoon.

Let me know if that works for you. The place: www.mustangtoystore.com

Just a quick heads up:

I've removed my Place Racing CAI and I've gone short ram with the resonator. I'm hoping I get more area under the curve, even if I lose some peak power.

I've booked dyno time for tomorrow morning, and I'll be tuning my VAFC II as well.

I'll report in later!

A little late, but here is my updated dyno run. Definitely an increase when I switched from the PRCAI to the HAI with resonator (both untuned.)

The richer AFR line is the HAI with resonater. The leaner line is my tuning with the VAFC2

I'm not happy with my tuning at all, but that's why I've got a WB o2 and controller on the way.

Thanks. It's definitely in need of a VI!

WB o2 items:

http://www.14point7.com/JAW/JAW.htm - controller
http://www.oxygensensor.net/lsu-4.html - O2 sensor

Total $120 CDN. I've read about the JAW controller on the NICO forums, ang the great part is that he is maybe 20 minutes from where I live

Now to get an O2 bung installed, and BAM! Good to go!

When I tuned on the dyno, I was aiming for a 13.9 AFR. My understanding is that may be too high. Dandymax said I should be aiming or 13.0-13.2, 13.5 max.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. Keep it coming!

HAI with resonater.. is that just putting a filter on right after the MAF?

Can i get a picture to completely understand what a HAI w/ resonater is.. Why don't you try a stock intake run?

171whp sounds good for an auto with intake/Y/B and tune.

Hey turtle, I would get a picture, but my car is at the shop right now:

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....32#post5755632

And my tune wasn't that great, so I'm picking up a WB o2.

My intake is as follows: TB --> flexible accordion tube --> Resonatore box --> MAF adaptor --> MAF --> Intake.
