06 Altima SE-R 5spd Auto Dyno (Untuned)

Well I finally made a trip to the dyno last Wednesday to see where my afr was, and to see what I was putting to the ground. Its been a while so I was hoping for some decent numbers. I recently installed headers and y-pipe and a walbro 255. I went as soon as I got off of work and put the car straight on the dyno so it was a little warm plus it was a little warm here in Oklahoma but oh well. I guess I’m happy with the numbers for now. I will get it tuned here in a few weeks and see what it does then.

Motor (Back to Back Pulls)
1st Pull 237.60 whp 232.17 tq
2nd Pull 227.60 whp 227.42 tq <---- Decrease maybe due to heat??

Nitrous (Back to Back Pulls)
1st Pull 346.30 whp 368.30 tq (Bottle Pressure 950psi)
2nd Pull 333.06 whp 347.18 (Bottle Pressure 910psi)

Altima SE-R 5spd Auto
Cattman Headers
Cattman Y-Pipe w/ High Flow Cat
Mossy Catback w/ Cattman Resonator
Kinetix IM
NWP Spacers
AEM WAI
NX Wet Kit 100shot
Dynotune 2 Stage Window Switch w/ TPS
SAFCII-Untuned
Big Bore MAF- Need to finish and install (Thankyou Jason)

Here are the Videos:

Why on one run (not on the spray) did the AFR stay close to 13 and on another lean out up to 15? Surely at that AFR it had to be retarding ignition timing.

The tail sniffer fell out of the exhaust lol... So we had to put channel locks on it for it to stay. The car is rich def not lean, that would be bad news..

Just curious, what A/F ratio are you trying to go for on the readout? I hear those tailsniffers tend to read on the lean side if you have cats.

I will be working on tuning my car too soon once my AFC arrives.

On motor I'm going for 13.1-13.3 and if it spikes to 13.4 or around that then thats ok, and on the spray I'm gonna shoot for 11.8-12.0 to stay on the safe side. The tail sniffer was pretty dead on because I have an Innovate LC-1 with a digital gauge and it was reading pretty close to what the dyno was reading. I only have a high flow cat in the y-pipe and thats it. Everything else is wide open.

Make sure you look at what AF makes the best power. the Z tuners will tell you that most VQ35s make the best power around 12.8 above 5000 rpms. I found that my traps increased a bit going from low 13s to high 12s at the track, still haven't dyno'd though.

The motor is doing ok with a 100 wet shot? I don't think there is much of a difference between the motor in your car and one in a 5.5 gen but I thought a 75 wet shot was the most you could safely run?

Nice #'s, especially for an auto. I think we should be a good N/A match when you come down to the track later this month. I'm scared of what she can do on the spray tho

If I were to throw the stock manifold on with a block off plate then my numbers wouldn't be the way they are but the Kinetix doesn't give off the best N/A gains I thought everyone knew that? My car isn't built for N/A so the motor numbers untuned are fine with me, the car was built for nitrous so thats why I have the Kinetix.

How many auto's out there are hitting in the high 250's?? Not very many. Most cars that put those down those numbers are 6 speeds unless I'm missing something? I think my numbers are just fine being untuned and an auto and considering the intake manifold setup.

Thanks Jason, I'm off Thurday & Friday, I'm tuning Thursday morning so I will call you when I'm done.

Well I'm glad someone see's these numbers are coming from an untuned auto haha.. Thanks for the kind words my friend. We will def have to line them up at the track motor to motor, it will be fun I think.. I don't een know what she's gonna do once I flip my switch...

the reason why i said high 240's low 250's is because 1. the car came with more HP and assuming it was the same % drivetrain loss then it should be roughly about a 5hp gain and 2. you also have more than what most auto's have, and nowadays almost all auto's are dynoing 240's untuned, (skiddz guy, 1sexyleo, nmexmax or whatever his name really spelled and im pretty sure others) of coarse i was saying all this before i realized the whole kinetix thing...

yeah the car came with more hp.. but his hp numbers are at the wheel not the crank like advertised by nissan.. manual/auto theres still drivetrain loss.. that arguments irrelevant

Grand Hustle: autos generally have a higher drivetrain loss percentage as well. You seem to throw out the highest #'s like they are the norm that everybody should hit?

I had seen it and read it and enjoyed it. It was just that no one really had any questions on it. The thread is clean & to the point. You got some numbers, a little AFR conditioning, strong numbers, you spray. But then someone tried to confuse it and make it more complicated than what it was and, well, i had to say something.

I would just ask for my usual.

1.) Runfiles

2.) What gear

3.) take it ro rev limiter next time.

they are not the highest numbers, those are the norm... i do know that auto's have more drivetrain loss.. all i was saying is that i thought it should have been higher seeing that autos with less was putting out more (of coarse i looked pass his Kinetix IM mod)
