N/A and Nitrous

All numbers are untuned, and vafc2 was used to bump up fuel to run rich for safety reasons. All motor run -3 fuel was used all across the charts to lean it out a bit.

Dyno is a DynoDynamics.

All motor 257whp
Nitrous - 390whp .62nitrous .35 fuel

Clutch was slipping badly and nitrous was only sprayed to 5200rpm, so there was still some power to be made. I was just playing it safe.

No my motor is not built. I put the car together with the help of many people. Sandeep (PunjabizMax) gets most of the credit. He has been the mechanic of my car and helped me thru every step.

Homedepot 3" PVC pipe w/ Spectre Filter
OBX Headers w/ 3" flex section
3" Summit Cut-Out
2.5" Crush Bent BS Exhaust w/ Stock Muffler
Ported Upper, Lower Manifold w/ NWP Blockoff Plate no SSIM
Stock Injectors
Walboro 255LPH

AEM Wideband
VAFCII

Stock Clutch, Stock Flywheel, No LSD, No ECU, Stock Axles

135K Miles on Motor

Any further questions. Feel free to ask.

Dyno graph will be uploaded soon, just waiting for scanner to finally work.

Badass numbers man!
Just get a clutch in it and you will be good to go.

That would be a sick street race car. Not saying that you do that or anything lol.

390WHP, yeesh! Definitely capable of 400+ when you wring it out to redline. 150 shot I'm assuming?

Yeah that's 150 shot jetting. I'd like to see what the torque peak was.

Did the dyno shop not give you runfiles? Call or email them and say you want runfiles sent to you.

150 shot can be done reliably if you know what you are doing.

With proper safety measures and tune, it's definitely less stressful on your engine than other types of F/I, and makes for a mild street car when not in use. Ultimately with TPS, window and A/F switches added in with some general caution, it's very unlikely to "blow up" anything with nitrous unless you're spraying way too much for what your bottom end can handle. Thanks to Jime and some other pioneers, we know the 3.5 is reliably capable of handling a 150-200 shot.

Tuning is the key, as in pretty much every other case.

you know whats interesting is i entered those jets and its equivalent to about a 175shot according to dynotune nitrous calculator.

as of right now i dont really have a tune or any sort of safety with it. It was cold so i got away with spraying a big shot. I didn't want to bring it to redline because a lot of people were there also i was afraid of clutch giving out. The nitrous was also spray at 900psi.

I have the run file just my scanner is not working right now. The cars hp and tq is about 1:1. The tq was like 391wtq or something like that.

Im getting a utec next week, im curious to see what it will do for me all motor. Best i ever ran was 13.4@104.6 2.1 60' on 275/40/17 MT ET Streets which is probably 26+ in diameter on 22lbs mustang rims.

It sees more street than track.

.62N/.35F is good for 150 hp at the wheels and 175 hp at the crank. NX recommends .62N/.35F for a 150 shot. Some manufacturers rate their jetting in chp and others rate their jetting in whp. I'm using the same jetting as you.

If only the weather could get better. Can't even dream of going WOT N/A let alone with my current 120 shot. But a 150 shot. When is summer coming back?!

I've sprayed it couple of times recently and I had really bad torque steer in 3rd.

I would really like to go to Pacific Raceways this next season with you and couple of boosted 4th gen guys (mastercater7 and Nozama). It would be awesome to run some other comparable cars at the strip.

It did hook. He just didn't launch it aggressively enough.

I ran the car for 40mins straight before the dyno to warm up the bottle, so it would probably see 260. Also dyno dynamics read lower than a dynojet.

Its in the 270 territory on a dynojet

I'll agree when I you show us 108+ traps.

He said it would be 270whp on a dynojet. Jaypee ran 109 traps with slightly over 270ish whp on a dynojet and likely a lighter car and very good shifting. I am just doubtful of an untuned N/A full bolton 5.5 is a 270whp car matching one with a few more mods and tune.

Now on nitrous I wouldn't expect anything less than 115 with 390+ whp!

the majority of people making 260 or so HP arent trapping higher than 105 or somewhere around that, I think expecting him to trap 108 is the same as expecting him to be a great driverm which IMO you really just cant do

Yeah I agree, i was at 105-106 with just about 280hp years ago, full weight, and auto, with 390 he'll be flying

I'm not a great driver, I have 100 lbs on Jaypee's race weight, and my car has done mid 107 traps N/A. I can not imagine mine putting down much over 270whp, if it is even makes that much. Also remember SR20DEN with his 108 traps on 270ish whp.

It doesn't take an amazing driver to get good traps, just one who can shift quickly. I'm sure Jaypee or travis (spec V travis) could jump in my car and pick up 1-2 mph over me, though!

That said, I don't see why it's unreasonable to expect a (supposed) 270whp car to at least match mine. Sure, JP and I are tuned with more mods than him, but hell apparently he's putting down at least as much power as JP is (if only it were a dynojet... *cough*)!!!!

I'm not contesting the 257 whp number, just the 270whp claim.

Did you ever get graphs? Just interested in seeing the curve on your N/A run.
