Turbo 4gen make 413fwhp

Ok so I am posting this for a local org member who want to the dyno and made three pulls. They were 396, 398 and 413 after letting the car cool down. Mods are a stock vq30, 60-1 turbo, jwt ecu, mevi, pftb, 3inch ic piping and exhaust "no cutout used on these pulls".

I'll let the owner go into additional details about his setup encase he does not want it out there.

Vid - sorry crappy cellphone this was last minute

Why the peak at 6300?

Crusher103 04-10-2011 08:57 AM

10.0 is rich thou, those are solid number nonetheless.

t6378tp 04-10-2011 11:14 AM

Disreguard the A/F it was not being logged during the pull.

As for peak tq not sure why so high but the owner knew the car would somewhat of a highway hero

Thankyou tom for posting this.

This was last minute (As stated above). A friend stopped by the shop yesterday and mentioned a local dyno competition. We strapped the car down straight off the highway and put down 396whp and 398whp back to back. We let the car cool down for the final 2 passes. 1st cool down run was 443whp (false reading according to dyno operator) and the final was 413whp @15 psi.
The car makes anywhere from 14.3 -15.1 psi on the street which results in no traction until third if i get on it. Im intentionaly building a "highway hero" that i plan to rev past 7400 rpms.

Revert to oem flywheel and sell me the fidanza ;). Should get traction a bit earlier. :D

No valve springs, rev-up oil pump, cams to help at those rpm levels?

My car is being built in essential the same fashion, because its just not gonna put down over 300whp in 1st or 2nd, i have cams so it can breath quite easily up to 7500rpm but im capping it at 7200rpm.

Also how is that transmission holding up?

krazy6 04-10-2011 05:58 PM

That's some nice power! :D

I have a built longblock that can be spun to 8k with no problem, i'll will be putting it in one of these years..lol

The tranny is still intact, to be honest it can go @ any time but it is working flawlesly @ this moment.

Yeah please do. How many miles on it as of now?

less than 10k but i beat on this car everytime i take it out. that clutch & flywheel have been the sole survivers of a few setups n/a, nitrous,& now boost.

I see. So pretty much you just wanna see how much the stock 3.0 will take before kaboom?

the one thing im worried about is my trans, with this setup im going for i know it will easily do 400whp, its just that trans. Ontop of that i have a VLSD trans so i really dont want to lose it.

VQ'rInWLA 04-10-2011 06:16 PM

So I get a disount right? ;)

I belive i can make 500whp with the 3.0 but i dont have the time or intrest to throw another 3.0 in if i do blow it. i want to concentrate on the mods i need to support the built motor. tunning is my main concern now that i broke into the 400's

I blew third in my vlsd bout 2 yrs ago still sitting on the shelf waiting for a rebuild.. I belive you should have atleast one spare tranny @ all times regardless of how much power ur making. They will break i promise...lol

wirelessdude04 04-10-2011 08:01 PM

veryy nice numbers

mista0406 04-10-2011 08:15 PM

that is crazy numbers on stock internals... im trying to get near there... very nice man keep us posted on the BLOW up...uh...i mean BUILD up LOL

I vote that he you are ready to drop in the new motor go back to the dyno with my meth kit, a open dump pipe and turn up the boost.

Put a 6 speed in it!

Crusher103 04-11-2011 10:27 AM

If the 5spd blows then i will consider put a 6spd in.

ajcool2 04-11-2011 11:43 AM

Drive that bish there lol. Congrats on the numbers.

1swtmax 04-11-2011 06:23 PM

Some nice numbers. Good work. Go have some fun. Highway hero, from third gear on will be fun.

neocry 04-11-2011 08:29 PM

Very nice! One day I'll get there. lol

ampire 04-12-2011 05:52 PM

Very cool

aic96max 04-12-2011 08:17 PM

nice numbers! def a laggy setup with good topend power. good work. suck through or blow through maf?

streetzlegend 04-12-2011 08:34 PM

This is what I like to see, making power on 3.0's, 3.5's are overrated lol. People should stop saying "so u going to boost till it blows", "it can blow any minute", etc... I truly believe a 3.0 with strong head studs can reliably make near 550hp.

liqidvenom 04-12-2011 09:52 PM

nice power, good to see this platform still pushing forward.

is there a build thread to follow?

accordingtou 04-13-2011 03:29 AM

Thankyou. This is a blow through set up and I dont plan to make a build thread, but once my setup is final I will post pics & details of everything.

liqidvenom 04-13-2011 05:53 AM

well i dont need a build thread but where is the turbo mounted? rear mount or it is in the engine bay?

ajcool2 04-13-2011 07:33 AM

How do Dynomite number compare to Dynojet?

t6378tp 04-13-2011 09:09 AM

Dynojet reads higher, This dyno can also apply a load

streetzlegend 04-14-2011 09:10 AM

So any plans for some 1/4 times?

accordingtou 04-14-2011 09:31 AM

Yes. I plan to make a few passes this year:D

KRRZ350 04-14-2011 11:58 AM

Damn nice numbers, that thing must come alive so hard when it finally does.

You stole the words right from my mouth, I haven't seen anyone find the true (Not headgasket) limit of a 3.0- who's bent rods without tuning/deto issues

3.0s probably are slightly stronger than 3.5s but with boost.....i dont see how it can be much stronger than a 3.5. I like 3.0s, and im boosting a 3.0 but just being realistic about it. There is a 350Z putting down 600whp stock block. doesnt really explain guys blowing up at 350whp.

That 600hp stock block Z probably never sees the road or is detuned for the road.

It held up strong for a good amount of time....then blew in true VQ fashion.

accordingtou 04-14-2011 02:08 PM

Thanks. yes the "HIGHWAY HERO" is fun up top. I plan to hook the bottles up for lowend in the near future.
