The new (useless) search works, but the old (useful) advanced search doesn't.

And yeah, count me annoyed as well.

I thought I was the only one. but yeah, if I have to contribute money to get it to work, by all means!!!

The "recent posts" function when you try to search for one's most recent posts won't work either, just FYI.

^Been using the new search box in the meantime. It's not bad, but it's just not as effective as the advanced search.

Please fix search.

Without advanced search, the Org is becoming useless except for active threads.

can someone explain step by step what they search for and which search they are using (white box, drop down search, advance search, etc)?

IB is unable to replicate the issue. screens would help also.
thanks!

I use the advanced search. Target it for the 4th gen forum and try very simple words. Like oil, leak and filter and instead of getting every single post like usual I get the same "no matches" as the screen cap in the previous post.

I have used search many times before, it's one of the reasons I have such a low post count on this forum. Now when I need it the most I can't use it. Looks like I'm going to have to spend some money at the mechanic now.

"Search this thread" drop down located at the top of each thread.
Click that and enter just about anything pertaining to the thread(even user names) in that white box and the result will be:

"Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms."

The advanced search is what I have problems with. Put anything in the "Search for" box, usually I target it to 1 forum (4th Gen, sometimes 5th Gen) and I get the "Sorry, no matches" message, no matter what phrase or words I put in the search box. The "Google Search" seems to work ok, but that doesn't target any particular forum which gets very annoying.

Go to any member profile. Click on the Statistics tabpage. Click on "find all threads started by [user]", and it will erroneously come up empty.

That's highly doubtful.

That's highly doubtful.

well from the additional info that you all provided they can see the issue now so they will work the problem. once the fix is in and if there are other issues they will be looked at them one at a time. apologies for the delay.

can you lose the attitude? i would appreciate that, thanks.

Did you guys did any updates to the site prior to the search not working? It could be a corrupt search cache..fix in mysql database by resyncing the table.
