Well since my other thread got locked and i can't reply there....

I think the reason no one participated in MOTM was because the rules are WAY to strict.

Must be freshly washed.
Must be taken with a good camera, no cell phones.
Take this many pics.. do this do that. that discourages a lot of people. especially me. Not everyone's car is a show car. I don't plan on cleaning my car everytime i want to take a pic!

Just my 2 cents since this is the feed back section..
Lessen the rules.
Over on NPORA when i had my pathfinder you'd strike a cool pose. snap a pic. post it and those that liked would vote... only one pic. didn't matter how many participated... granted they are an offroad forum so they're not gonna be clean. But this is an enthusiasts site. not a show car site. (or is it?)
None of this telling a story about why your car should be motm... the people voted. the storybook..... ?what the heck.

I guess i just don;t understand...

freshly washed - if there's a dirty car for MOTM ppl start to complain and say well why is that car dirty and etc...my car could've won etc etc. pathfinders are SUVs...that means they are meant to get dirty and do stuff...you're on a maxima forum now.

good picture - you'll be surprised how many BAD cell phone pics i saw. stuff with week old taco bell and some papers and receipts laying around and they are "proud" of their interior. all i ask is if you can clean up the car. if i'm going to showcase a car for MOTM i don't want ppl to say well that pic looks blurry or a postage stamp sized image. is it that much to ask for a person to clean their car or even pick up some of the litter? the image is the first thing that pops up when someone types in maxima.org. not good to have a bad pic as the front page.

take this many pics - that's really a guideline. people posted more...some people posted less. in most cases i tell people that if i need more i'll ask you for it. you're really reading too much into it.

tell me a story - well i got complaints that noobs would come on with 3 posts and win MOTM while long time standing members didn't win it. i want to see someone that wants to be MOTM...they put work into their ride, they have passion for the hobby...yeah i guess you don't get it.

i even got complaints that the highly modded cars were all winning...i picked a not so modded car and i got more complaints.

please don't compare this forum to other forums. EVERY forum on the internet is unique and has their unique features.

the vote feature is great...here's the other issue with that...what 2 cars do you pair up? there's a photo battle feature but i don't see it as being something that's popular on this forum. again...different forums may have a very popular photo battle section.

at the end of the day the forum just can't please everyone. we try to work with what we have in the community. unless there's a very large group that wants MOTM back again it will stay down until further notice.
