flushing manual trans

ok i have a chance to go to my friend's mechanic's shop and he said that he can drain my fluid for the whole night. that is he's gonna open the plug and leave for the night so the whole thing drips out, and then put in MT-90.

Is that something that is usefull or beneficial or just something that takes more time???

thx

If you change the gear oil when hot and let it drain for a half hour or so, you'll be fine. Letting it sit overnight isn't going to create that much of a difference because the gear oil is going to cool fairly rapidly and thicken up, limiting it's flow. By leaving the system open that long, you also run the risk of any contaminants being blown in.
