I've started to realize that the brake pedal on my 2k has started to get soft after 3 years of hard breaking. So, naturally I decided to change the fluid. I did a little searching around and came across a full synthetic fluid, Valvoline Synpower Dot 4 (Dot 3 compatible). I thought I'd give it a shot since they've been in the business for over a 100 years, and because synthetics are more resistant to moisture contamination and breakdown. Well, the result are awesome! I can't say for sure, but I actually think my pedal feels better than when I first bought the car. It has a very solid feel, and hopefully it is resistant to high temperatures when I jam on them hard. Valvoline claims it has a boiling point of 503 degrees, which is far better than most common fluids out there. Just a suggestion for those guys that want to restore their brakes to better than new condition.

Thanks for the recommendation. Did you ever consider Castrol LMA in your search? Apparently this fluid doesn't absorb moisture as rapidly as the other fluids out there, although its BP is lower than Valvoline. I'm looking for a good fluid that can be purchased at a local retailer like PepBoys, Autozone or Walmart.
