What did you do after you poured 1/3 in the brake line? I poured it in, shut it off for 5 min and started it again, but I didnt nearly as much smoke as you did... Almost no smoke at all, and my car has 176k on it, so I know them bishes are dirty.

You poured it in on a HOT engine, right? It doesn't work very well at all on a cold engine. Barely smokes. I've tried it. Be sure it's thoroughly warmed up first before doing this... a good 15 minute drive should do it.
I'm pretty sure the SeaFoam chemical needs lots of heat to do its work.

Someone posted the directions somewhere on the site a few weeks ago, I'm pretty sure it said to accel. the car to 3k while in neutral for a while. I'm not sure how long, but I do remember that part.

I did it today and now the car idles terribly. Now the car vibrates at idle and during acceleration. I put it in the crankcase and fuel. I'm worried something may be wrong. I posted a thread in the fluids section...
DAMN SEAFOAM!!!
I also got no smoking, but the engine wasn't warmed up. Too bad Seafoam doesn't tell you to warm up the engine before using it.....
I'm not impressed so far

Well I put it in through the brake booster vacume not the crankcase.. My idle is much smoother now... i'll tell you that much..

Try that oil change and let us know if that cures your problem. I know your supposed to do an oil change after u dump some seafoam into the oil anyways..

he said he poured it through the crankcase...on that section of the instructions it says nothing about the engine being warmed up.

The section where it says warm engine is under the TB/Carb method.

If those set of instructions are for all 3 methods...then they are a bit unclear.

ah k, it probably doesn't matter if you warm it up for the crankcase. But I doubt it's that useful in the crankcase anyway....

The only funny thing in that vid is that you weren't smart enough to close the door and not let any smoke in. The video doesn't show on most players and even plays out of sync on others. Next time just make a .wmv file instead of .avi.

Ive read good things and bad things about this stuff such as it takes multiple uses to really make a difference? Is this true? Also where else are you gusy pooring this stuff? Down the tb, crankcase and brake booster?

I only use it in the brake booster (VACUUM HOSE, as one person mentioned in the other thread, it's not the brake booster you pour it into, it's the vacuum hose leading to it... purpose is to get it into the intake manifold)

I did pour an entire can of it in the fuel tank, don't really think it made a difference. I wouldn't touch my crankcase with that crap anyway. (I use Mobil 1 synthetic oil, it should be clean enough anyway...)

I can say that if used through the brake booster vacuum hose, or any other suitable vacuum hose leading to the intake manifold, you should do it only with the engine warmed up. I did it to another org member's car cold, and it didn't appear to do jack. (VERY little smoking)
Second time around, with the engine warmed up, the effect was far more dramatic

I use this stuff about every 3rd oil change, love the stuff. It does do wonders in the crankcase.

My car last year around Xmas was burning a little bit of oil, if I stomped it from a stop. I put some in through the crankcase and now when I stomp on it the car does not blow out blue smoke anymore.

That was enough to sell me.

You don't actually put it into the brake booster, you put it into the vacuum hose going into the intake manifold.
Easiest way is to remove the vacuum hose going into the brake booster from the booster itself, then pour it in so it gets sucked into the intake manifold.

We all say "brake booster" when we really mean the vacuum hose leading to it, 'cause it's the most convenient location.

the green circle. Remove the hose clamp, pull off the hose, turn it upside down and pour the SeaFoam into that hose with the engine running while fully warmed up. Pour no more than ~1/3rd can, then PROMPTLY shut off the engine, reinstall the hose and clamp, and let it sit for 5-15 minutes before starting it up.
When you're pouring it in, pour it in slow enough that the engine doesn't stall, but fast enough that the engine sputters or shakes a little... that's what I've done.

Oh man, what a punk. You made it avi I asked for a wmv? Why? Well it makes smaller vids and almost EVERYONE can play it. You hosted the vid so that WE can see it, why would you post it otherwise. As for my comp, it has almost every codec there is and it plays WELL made avi files fine. Who said anything about streaming it, I saved it then tried to watch it. I wasn't the first to point out the vid isn't right so why are you getting off on me?

LOL dont ask stupid questions, we all know you like to troll around threads and leave all but no useful comments.. Even says it in your sig.. Everyone should have a divx codec, if not too bad so sad.. 9/10 could view the vid so thats fine for me.
