Altitude + Octane
Altitude + Octane
I am sure this has been beat to death but I have not read it on this forum.
What octane would you recommend for high altitude?
The manual says that you may use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 84.
I live in the Denver Colorado area and have been running 87 in my 1998 GXE, it seems to run very smooth as far as I can tell.
What are your thoughts? Is this exceptable or would you still run a 91+ octane?

I live at sea level on the West Coast of British Columbia. From what I know, I don't think you need to run above 87 octane at your elevation. Surf bobistheoilguy.com and find out what others in your area are using (granted different vehicles but you get the picture).
