I just replaced my tranny oil with Mobile 1 synthetic 75-90 weight. It really makes it much easier to shift. ANyone else try it and if so how does it feel?

I only use/recommend Redline MT90 or Amsoil GL4 in Nissan manual transmissions.

I believe that the Mobil 1 trannie fluid you are using is NOT the proper spec = GL 4. In the long-run, if it is not GL 4, it will be bad for your trannie. You need to get it replaced with a straight GL 4 fluid like Amsoil or Redline.

DeUs, I think you may have just voided your warranty on your tranny. Unsure though, but defintely with the autos, if you don't use what nissan recommends then say by by to warranty

He never answered my question. I am pretty sure Mobil doesn't make a straight GL-4, so the question still remains, was it a GL-4/5, or worse, a straight GL-5?

I personally don't buy long term buffer protection given by GL-4/5 combos, regardless whether you're keeping the car "til it dies" or trading the problems in.

There is a reason Amsoil brought back straight GL-4 gear oil; plenty of demand from people like me who don't want to risk it.

Any long term issues arise from your 75-90 fluid? I have just bought 3 bottles of Lucas 75-90 full synthetic.

Anyone can fill me in on how to drain the old kife?
