Any good over the counter air filters besides OEM?

I recently went back to stock intake...I'm interested in getting a replacement filter...but was wondering if there was anything good out there besides stock? Perhaps a pure 1 or wix or some other brand? Let me know!

Depends what you want to spend. The OEM filters are good quality as are wix and probably pure-one. If you want the ultimate in an aftermarket application, the new AMSOIL Ea filters are great. http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/eaa.aspx

Cost for the filter to fit the max is $26 ($34.15 retail) plus your applicable sales tax and shipping. Pls see my post in the Group Deals section and/or send me a PM if you want one.

K&N Filters are good, and they can be cleaned and reinstalled. I had one before I upgraded to an intake. They are around $40

I am using that filter and I like it. I feel it is better than OEM.

I'd stay clear from the K&N...I'm looking along the lines of a dry filter that you throw away every 15-20k....about $10-$15 a pop....I've had bad experience with K&N...I use to have one on my 4th gen...and that thing got super dirty after like 10k miles...the oil wasn't red anymore...and I had to go buy the kit for $10 to reoil it...problem is, I had to keep reoiling it every 10k...and plus I risk re-oiling (factory preoiled is perfect) and damaging my MAF...

I would like to stick with a regular filter...

Purolator Pureone Air Filter. Put one in my girls car. Feel a difference? No. But that's not why I put it in. It's supposed to flow more air, catch more dirt and last longer. So I figured why not for $10.

Nissan's oem air filter is tough to beat. But honestly, I think just about all of the aftermarket air filters are good...STP, Fram, Wix, Purolator, Baldwin, etc. I'd buy on price personally. Amsoil and Purolator Pure1 air filters are probably a cut above other over-the-counter choices due to their unique filtering media. The only air filter I avoid is Micro Guard from O'Reillys. The one I bought had visible holes in the filter right out of the box...no kidding.
