where are the jack points of 1989 maxima

I want check the steering pump. But I have no idea about where is the jack points for the floor jack under the car? My car is 1989 maxima. Although the repair manual have a drawing, but I can not make sure where the point is. And I am afraid the wrong jack point will broke the car bottom.

The side jacking point is the same reinforced points where the factory scissor-jack goes. However, I would not recommend you climb under the car with it only supported by a jack....many people do it, but it's dangerous. The safest way to get under it would be either to use ramps or a pair of jack stands.

Not sure if the '89 model has this, but the later models have a rubber cone right under the chin of the car (dead center, front, a little ways back in before you reach the engine). This is designed for lifting the entire front of the car with a floor jack. Once you get the front end in the air, you can then position jack stands under the reinforced jacking points on each side and safely work under the car. And don't forget to chock the rear wheels or apply the e-brake before lifting the front off the ground. :-)
