Anyone want to comment on my UOA?

Oil was Amsoil Series 2000 0w-30 (TSO), with an Amsoil EaO oil filter.

Service was 7400 hard miles over about 3.5 months -- gentle warmups, but WOT, redline, and brisk traffic light takeoffs daily. Mostly highway (often congested), a good amount of city, and several road trips among Philly, NYC, DC, and various destinations in VA.

Engine is a DE-K with 56.5k miles on it at time of sample. Solid crankshaft pulley with no vibration damping element, K&N air filter meant for a GMC Yukon (don't ask), and an improvised PCV oil catch.

Analysis was done by Oil Analyzers.

...Of course, all of this was before my recent close encounter with a giant puddle, which left me limping home (~30 mins) on what I later discovered was a chocolate milkshake. I do intend to do another UOA at my next OCI -- tomorrow, the car is getting some Seafoam, some fresh TSO, a new EaO filter, and a new intake with an EaAU air filter. But until then, since this is my baseline, any thoughts?

Have you posted your UOA on BITOG? Did the UOA give any opinion on recommended OCI or if you were still good to go?

Please post back after you do a UOA with the Amsoil EaA. I have the same filter in my car and would like to know that it's doing a good job.

Yup. http://theoildrop.server101.com/foru...=763526&fpart=

One user said I could probably take it out to 15k miles next time. I just can't shake the notion that my wear metals are a little on the high side...

Oh, I will. I need a post-puddle UOA anyway.

Every engine shows different results of UOA, and you should compare the results of this sampling to future tests from the same lab. Your lab report should have highlighted any areas they thought were Abnormal or Critical. It also should have included an assessment of whether or not any corrective action was required and a statement whether or not the oil was suitable for continued use. Based on these results you posted, I don't believe you would have had any such flags or negative comments on your report. I think it's a good report.

Silicon can come from sources other than/in addition to an inefficient or poor fitting air filter. However, I expect your numbers will improve with the EaA air filter...they provide a good seal and are much more efficient than the filter you have been using.

Good luck in getting the water out of the crankcase
