The best one that I've found is a FloTool #5 graphite, that fits the end of our filters. It has a standard 3/8" square drive and a 22mm (1 in.) hex. drive, so you can always get on it. I think I got it at Lordco.

When it comes to removing all sizes of oil filters, I've found that a very large pair of channel lock pliers works on them all. It kind of messes up the old filter, but who cares since it will be trashed anyhow.

You don't use them to install the new filter -- it should be only as tignt as you can get it with your hands.
