need an answer on oil filter for 92 VE engine

Ok, ive read all the stickys on this subject. But, all these topics were started about 4 years ago! I see that toyota has constantly been changing the part number for the oil filter that supposably works well for 92 VE engines.
But i read the filter everyone was using from yota is a 4cyl oil filter.

I want to change my oil TODAY.. im leaning towards getting the Napa GOLD 1361 filter. Does it exactly cross reference the old filter for the VE's?
Or is there a new better one by toyota. And whats the part number??

Sorry about the post, i know some people will just say "donate, search, read the stickys!"

But i would like to quit procrastinating this oil change and get it done already, with good quality!
Also this is the first time im changing the oil in this car, I just bought it a week ago. So im new to Maximas. I was going to go with a 5w-30 oil. But not sure which type or brand, probably NOT synthetic. So filter, oil.. Whats good?
My car has 126k Miles, runs awesome.. no VTC noise (knock on wood) A slight tick that could be lifters maybe, but no big deal i dont think.

I know the used dealer tossed a crap oil filter and heavy oil in, so its imperative i get it changed ASAP! I love this car,its my new baby. So I'd appriciate any help. Thanks

I wouldn't recommend you mess around with a Toyota filter. While it might screw on to your engine okay, it may or may not be fitted with an anti-drain-back valve and there may be significant differences in the calibration of the by-pass valve.

The NAPA gold filter p/n you cited is the correct application for your engine. Those filters are made by WIX and they are of very high quality. The WIX p/n is 51361. I would not hesitate to use either of these filters with petroleum oil changed at normal intervals.

There are two large threads on the toyota filters. ONe in the third gen forum, one at the top of this forum. Toyota=high quality. Usually any OEM=high quality. Nissan discontinued the proper filter for this car. I use the one off a 06 corolla, about the same size as OEM, anti-drain back valve, and no VTC noise.
