tranny oil weight question

I have the new 06 mt tranny which will be going in my 03 maxima in a few days. I checked the FSM and it says I should use 2.2 litres of 75w85 oil. Of course there is no synthetic version at this weight. Am I better to go with 75w85 or 75w90? Keep in mind I am in southern Ontario Canada and the temps can get below 0*F up here in winter.

Go with the 75W90 synthetic. It should work fine for you in Canada and is what I use here in Colorado (actually saw the coldest temps with my car in northern Illinois = like - 15 F).

Send a private message to Talkinghorse and he will sell you Amsoil at effectively his cost. It is a great deal for great lubs. He will not sell you a lube that is not correct for the application you need it for. I know that from experience.

Good luck with the trannie installation.
