Well the main difference is that this vafc has a total of 16 tuning points, the SAFC-II has 12, the VAFC-II has 24. You still get more tuning than you would with a SAFC-II, and this doesn't light up bright orange like the VAFC-II when you hit the upper map lol.
The only real diff between the V and the S afc's is the window switch on the VAFC. You don't have to use it for anything, I'm not.

ok so explain this to a noob
first off, would this work on a 97 GLE? i assume it will.
lets say i get this in the mail, will it come with all the neccesary connections and wires etc?
how do i install it? is it ez?
would there be anything else i would need to get this to work?
im new to modding (as im sure you can tell). i put spacers and a y pipe on my car and now it needs to be tuned. i was instructed to get one of these but i dont know the first thing about them.
would i need to get an aftermarket ECU for this to work?

It comes with all the wires, you just splice them into the ECU wires.
The install is very easy... you are just splicing 7 or so wires from your ECU into the AFC.
You don't need anything else to fully install it and set it up, but in order to TUNE your car with it, you will need a way of reading the A/F on your car, most people just go to a dyno and get it tuned, others buy a wideband.
