Carbon Fiber Fabric

Hey,

I have a bunch of this fabric. It is not 3M. You can NOT use it on the outside but it works great for interior pieces. Very big over on the BMW boards. Same stuff that I have actually. I ended up selling my last car before the carbon fiber project so I have quite a bit as I bought a whole bolt (big long piece). Price is $30 a yard by 56" piece. That is shipped via USPS Priority and Paypal. This is about 14 sq. feet of fabric so just about $2 a sq foot shipped. *IF* 10 of you are interested I'll take 20% off each order just to blow it out. You must use some sort of spray adhesive. I recommend V&S 1081, Weldwood or some guys use 3M Super 77.

Any questions just let me know and I'll be happy to answer.

Really interested... sorry to ask... is it really a "fabric" type or more on "paper" based? and why would you say its not usable for outside or outdoor applications? maybe you could take a picture of the back side... thanks

Hi. It is absolutely a fabric and not that paper stuff. I know what you mean. You can kinda see in the wrap picture that it bends quite nicely. I don't think the paper stuff would do that. I say don't use it on the outside because think about it if you put fabric on the outside of your car the elements, weather, rain etc. would just degrade the fabric and eventually you'd have a bunch of crap. I did see a guy use this fabric on the gas tank of his crotch rocket. I guess he doesn't ride it much. It looked great but I don't know how it held up long term. To be safe I'd stick to interior pieces, trim, sub enclosure, head liner, console. That sort of thing.

PM responded to.

I'm in 19606 (Reading). About an hour or so West of Philly. I think I have some feedback at Tristate Tuners if you're on the fence about my rep.

Thanks.

i got the sample... thanks...

it really looks good tho its kind of thin...

im kinda confused on your pricing... you said a yard (36 inches?) by 56 inches for 30 bucks? and what was that about the 20% discount that you mentioned?

Glad you liked it. Let me clear up the pricing. Imagine a giant roll that is 56" wide. So I can make you a piece that is 56" wide by 1 yard, 2 yard, 10 yard... whatever. So a piece that is 56" wide by 1 yard long (36") is $30 to your door. What I then said was if 10 people want to buy fabric (group buy sort of thing) I will knock 20% of EACH order total. So you're one of 10 and your order is $60 I'll knock off $12. Now if YOU want 10 yards I'll give you the same 20% discount. But if you just want a yard it's $30 on your doorstep in 3 days.

Oh and it's thin which makes it easy to work with. The heavier the fabric is and the less it stretches the harder it is to work with. Trust me on that.

Very true; you can use a steamer (like you use on your clothing) to make the material/fabric more pliable. This is an age old trick for auto trimmers and upholsterers.

20% deal is for 10 people OR I will do the 20% if you buy 10 yards. For 1 yard you're still at $30 shipped and Paypalled which is cheaper than anybody else on the net for this fabric.
