Got a 94 Integra GSR as 2nd car!
Hey all, I just got a sweet Integra GSR 4dr as a second car. Nice little car, super sporty feeling. To make go as fast as my max though I have to run the thing in its Vtech range, 6000-8000 RPM.....A little unnerving! I raced my wife in my maxima (auto), and since I have just gotten my GSR I don't have good launches or shifts down pat yet...Got worked by my wife! It's all good though, I'll get it down, and the max is still my favorite car though. My wife does drive the max most of the time, so I needed another something a little sporty and not too expensive. There is a local sports car club that does lots of autocross races, and I will probably run both a couple of times. But the GSR will probably have to be what I tune.
Hopefully I wont get flamed as being a "trader" because I am not....They are both great cars!
BTW...I have visited the Honda-Acura boards, and might I say, most on this board are FAR more respectable, friendly, and Mature! Long live Maxima.Org!!

Maxima vs. GS-R
Great options... what to drive, what to drive, what to drive
When I made the final decision to purchase the '96 GXE it came down to price. The GXE was $17.5K and the best I could haggle on the 4Dr GS-R was $20K something. Eventually I became comfortable with the decision: better 0-60, more room for the lunch crowd, stealth...
But the logical choice is to develop the Integra for the autocross and the Maxima for an open road course. What you'll give up, though, is the mouth wide open stare of amazed on-lookers when you bring the "big" Max across the autocross finish line with a class winning time.
... now, on to the road course...

cool
i thought gsr are faster than the max. thats what i heard at least. congrats and get the aem stuff for your acura.
i agree with what you said about this board and others. maxima.org is so much more mature and kick back. max drivers are cool.

I won't consider you a "traitor."

Don't forget to be mod-happy.
I almost traded my Maxima for a 4-dr GSR a year ago, mostly because it was a 5-sp and it gets better gas mileage. Definitely doesn't feel as fast though. It is a really fun car to drive right out of the box. I wish it was my second car.
I echo your thoughts on the board too. I just got my fiancee into a 94 Civic EX and so I've been surfing the Honda boards, but they are terrible compared to this one.
Congrats on the purchase!
