Help! I scratched my i30
Help! I scratched my i30
I was half asleep backing out of my driveway this morning and I scraped a fencepost. Now I have a couple 9" long scrathes along my driver's side rear wheel well.
Is this something I can fix myself or am i better off taking it somewhere and having them do it. The scrape is down to metal in some spots but the majority of it is a scuff in the paint.
Thanks

Try some rubbing compound to get the scuffs out. It won't fix everything but it might help. Then either pay to have it fixed by a shop or try and make it look better with touch up paint. Depends on what you want to do and how much it bothers you to have scratches.
Re: Help! I scratched my i30
I have had a pretty $hitty day myself. I hate to tell you this but there is nothing you are going to be able b/c im sure the scratch is in the clear coat of the paint. It's going to cost you.
My day: 2 hours late for work b/c: bent my rim, took it to Good Year Tire to take the tire off so that i could ship it out to Wheels America, They scratched the **** out of it more, now it needs to be refinished, not just straightened, then went to local post office to ship, they were closed b/c of powder found in envelope, drove 30 min to next post office and finally to the train station.

I took my car to my families autobody shop, 280$ to fix. he has to grind off the panel and repaint, reapply the clear coat etc etc. This really sucks Ive never spent 300$ before i left my driveway before.
that formula gs27 stuff is great. i bought 2 tubes at target for like $20. it really does work. ive taken out a grip of scratches on my car as well as other peoples cars. its great for getting those stupid little white scratches out. takes them out like they were never there. it only works for light surface scratches though, i think you might have a little worse than that. but if you wanna try and put a band aid on it id suggest this stuff.
