This is what happens when you drive over a curb

I dunno how clear that pic is, but there is a rather large bubble in my front left tire. The story goes like this, cliff notes version but road rage involve me accidently not watching where I was going and I drove over a round (thank god) curb at like 30 MPH and then through 3 people's front yards. The curb took a toll on the tire. I think the rim survived though. The scuffing was from another time when the FWD drifted into a curb while doing a burnout. And then I discovered my other tire has a nail in it. Yup, its defintely time to get new tires. I may go back to 215 55 16s cause the 225 50's look ridiculous buldging out.

Hehe, I don't think road raging is the time to not be watching where you're going...

Good excuse to get some nice rubber though. Do it before that one blows out though

eric, you might want to check your alignment too. My brother ran his 328i into a curb, but he didnt run over it going forward.. he slid the side of the car into the curb. He had a bent front control arm, two trashed rims.. and some other sensors.. total damage was 2g+.. but your case might be different, but have your suspension checked out. The only visible damage my brother had was scratched rims, and his steering wheel was slightly off to the right(barely).. and at high speeds nothing really changed. but have it checked out just in case, because you never know..

How do you figure my rotor is gone? I hope the wheel bearing is OK, but I know how to fix that. I'm getting new tires soon, so I'll be sure to get an alignment as well. If something's bent, it would be impossible to align.

My God!!!

Seeing this level of damage, I would NEVER buy a Maxima again! I'm going to sell my car. Anyone want a 98 SE 5spd with 18 Evos? I'll trade you for a Taurus or a Camry or an Accord - a respectable, safe and reliable car...

Can anyone say TOOLBOX?! I hope that was sarcastic. If you hit a curb at 30 mph in any vehicle except maybe a SUV, you're going to have some serious damage.

there's nothing wrong with his brakes at all....look more closely and you'll see that the rotor splash guard is completely intact and the caliper (right next to it) is fine too.....

I fail to see how going over a curb could hurt your brakes at all

Did your wheel stick out (the bottom in - the top out)? How much will they charge to fix your suspension? You don't mention any damage, which means that you are able to drive it. right?
I had the same "mod" happen to me. I hit a curb with my wheels locked at about 30mph, took it to a mechanic and quoted me $800-1000. Control arm, rim, shock, linkage, alignment . . .
I took it to a "home mechanic" and he put the wheel back into place, but now I hear a noise that sounds like if the wheel is touching something. anybody have any idea what it is?
