350 rims on max

I saw a pic of the 350 with forged 18" wheels. If they fit we might be able to get a set cheap if a 350 owner wants new wheels. I'm just curious how much they weigh.

So do they fit? and what's their weight?

Stuff like that give a car that "stolen rim" look. Like seeing 97+ rims on a 3rd gen, 5th gen 225's on a 4th gen, SE rims on a GLE. GLE rims on a GXE, and so forth. It's like a circle of theft.

It looks illigit imho. Why? Because everyone knows you could buy a 2-pc aftermarket for the price of a factory rim 2" smaller. Just my .02

well if anyone was to ask if my rims were stolen

I would simply pull out my recept ant tell that person to have a nice day .I am glad you like what you like Frank Fontaine, but if the driver likes a more stock looking wheel and had the means to get em I dont think you should shot him down for doing what he likes ,that being said I would like you to know that I get 2 or 3 comments a day from ppl saying" I like them wheels" ,most of whom dont know they are stock 5th gen wheels .

Stolen? I don't see why you would think that. I think it would make the car look stock with a nice touch.

I've been thinking about these rims for a while now. I will be keeping an eye out for them

Actually, I called Dave B. about those today. He doesn't have a price yet, but supposedly ALL the 17" Nissan rims 2K, 2K1, and 2K2 are ~$570/each.

I'm betting these Volk TE37 look alikes are going to be WAY more expensive, so you'd be better off buying the real ones.

They got to be light weight, since supposedly they save ~18 lbs. in unsprung weight. The Volk TE37 in 8.5" size are ~19 lbs./each, savings.

Anyone know the offset?

Thank you. $570 each means 1/2 of that used in Hunts Point. You don't think aftermarket new at $325 (a little more) is gonna get you lighter weight? ie who would even pay 1/2 list legit on a factory rim? Stolen is usually 15-25% of list. I'm not gonna even mention how much it costs at that other place...personally we kicked it a while back, but I'm of the camp that it's unethical to buy at ridiculously low prices when you're not positive where it came from. Common sense says it came from a victim's car when you're buying factory 2k2 17's for $85.

You know the 18 inch 350Z wheels are real Volks right? The 17's are also.

The 350Z wheels are offset for rear wheel drive vehicles and would not be able to be used on a Maxima for very long I would imagine.

The offser is 30mm my friends 350z wheels don't rub, but the front tires and wheels stick out a little bit. But the look is awsome.

Yeah but I thought if the offset is off by too much then you will ruin your wheel hub or bearings over time.

Few weeks ago, my neighbor drove some home (had them for several days, too). Some pics I've just uploaded.

I suspected it, but didn't know for sure. How do you?

I know they are by Rays Engineering, but who knows if they are actually made by Volk just because Rays imports Volks.

I think you have it backwards

Mackin Industries is a global distribution center for high-performance products, including Volk Racing Wheels. that's been around for more than 30 years, with corporate headquarters in Santa Fe Springs, Calif. Volk Racing is the top-of-the-line brand of racing wheels offered by Rays Engineering, a Japanese high-performance wheel manufacturer. Established in 1973, Rays manufactures high-end wheels for both motorsports and street use. According to Mackin Industries, Rays Engineering uses its Volk Racing name to supply racing wheels to winning factory race teams from Honda, Nissan, Toyota and Mazda in the extremely tough racing environments of the Japanese and British Car Touring Championships, Formula 3000 and even F1.

Some people understand wheel offset and what it means.

Others understand FWD and RWD and don't think they should mix.

If they have the SAME offset, what else would be different between FWD and RWD?

That would be nice I wonder how much these 18' Z rims weigh? My SSR's are a hair under 20 lb's.

I understand that. But why would you need to align when you get new wheels and tires?

You don't.

New wheels + tires = no alignment if your alignment was OK before.

New springs + shocks/struts = probably need alignment
