I almost got to 150MPH in my 2k2 max in the NJ turnpike last night. It was between exits 11-9 around 1AM.

This car is bone stock, and I was in 5th gear I could have shifted and probably went faster.

How fast have people gotten their 2K2 Maximas up to? I'm thinking you could probably burry the needle if you had mods considering my car is bone stock.

 

dam, I'm afraid hitting a deer at night for going that fast. anyway, good picture.

I do most of my crazy speeding on the turnpike. Simply because I'm from NYC and I don't really know any good roads to go on in NJ.. Main reason I picked the turnpike is because its flat and has alot of lanes.. Can you suggest a better road to do >100mph driving?

Hey!! Between New Brunswick (9) and Woodbridge (11). That's exacty where I roll every day to and from work. I've done about 130mph on that stretch a few times. That's a NICE stretch of road to realize some topend potential; kind of reminds me of Tokyo Extreme Racer Zero's Route Wangan B --- STRAGHT AND WIDE!!



As for troopers in that area, just watch the following spots:
- Turnpike/Parkway official vehicle only overpass (moreso on the northbound side than southbound)
- Behind the break in the soundwall (midway bet. exit 11-10)
- Under the Exit 10 overpass (though I rarely see them there anymore)
- Rt 514 'official vehicle only' ramp (it's a declining onramp so lookout)

Gerald, have you ever checked out I78 between Newark and Hillside? It's not as long as the 11 thru 9 stretch on the Pike but it has no onramps and no places for cops to hide.

the fast i have went is 105 but it could go more....

 

i've gotten mine up to 150 twice, both times it was right at the end of 5th and i tried shifting into 6th and it slowed down, 6th is geared too high, i'm thinking maybe like 155 if you rev out 5th.

 

Well since your from NYC and roll through Jersey you have to know Rt. 1&9. I'm talking about the stretch of road right before the Pulaski Skyway, NYC bound. It's a decent strip with a few bends here and there but nothing serious. Your gonna have to do it during the night since there's a decent amount of traffic on it at peak times. I've been here for 18 years and it's really rare to see a cop on this road. Make sure you buckle up

The Turnpike is definately a tempting place to open her up but the 50 without a doubt watches it 50x's more than 1&9.

 

Dude.. Thanks for the advice! I gotta check out I78 next time im in NJ... The turnpike is a great road, but I know one day I'll get bagged there.. Have u been on 287? That's another very wide road and you can see 5 miles ahead in some places. I go down to south NJ/Philly a lot too.. I'm bound to find a good road down south.

I've hit 120 a lot on the parkway too on the way to seaside..
