2K2 Maxima trims

Maybe this is a dumb question but I have never noticed a GXE model for the 2k2's. Were they just discontinued for this year and if so, why? I've seen many SE's and GLE's but never once a GXE? What's the deal?

I heard exaclty the same thing from the dealer. Nissan assumes that people would rather get a fully loaded 2002 Altima over a base Maxima which makes sense.

SEs are now essentially the base. Most SEs that come into my dealership come with no options while the GLEs come fully loaded.
