Anyone want to see some ugly timeslips?
Here are some timeslips from Shadow's car today running at the Nopi Drag Wars Open Track Time. BTW, its a '97 GXE Auto running a V2 Supercharger w/ a 3.33 pulley and all other bolt ons. These are our first runs ever on a track so we don't know what we're doing out there.
Run 1: Shadow driving w/ a 1000rpm brake throttle launch and letting the auto shift itself. He was racing against an old Chevy S10 pickup in the left lane.
Run 2: Me driving w/ a 2000rpm brake throttle launch and letting shift itself. I was running against a lightly modded 2000+ Eclipse GT Spyder.
Run 3: Me caught sleeping at the light trying to figure out how to hold the car at 1500rpm. I was racing a '96+ Mustang GT who was also apparently very bad at launching. I tried shifting manually but I bounced off the rev limiter b/c I forgot to shift, and then again when I accidentally went into neutral around 1000'. I rolled through the lights and still beat him.
In our defense, his car was on 19's at a full 42psi which means no traction at all. We also weighed it in at a solid 3450lb w/ driver since we dropped in the huge stereo. The car has also been leaking boost through the blowoff valve and the occasional separation of the intake pipe. Its also had some occasional check engine lights and we may have messed up the knock sensor. I do think we could have gotten into the 14's w/ a clean run manually shifting but we didn't have time.
