that shouldn't be a big deal. going from 15-18 is more dramatic.

Just make sure you lower your car first. Rims that are not lowered look funny..

I loved the way they looked. I hated the way I had to watch out for EVERY pothole, crack, dip, and bump. I don't care how much your 18s cost, you can still dent any wheel with only a 40 series tire.

If you stay in an area with good roads, get 18s.

After my 18s were stolen, I bought 17s.

NO!! Like I've said before, I listened to the propoganda saying 55 to 40 series, bettwer watch out for the potholes, one wrong move will ruin the tire and dent the rim. BALONEY! Is it a &^%&^% to park? Just a little. I used to give the RS-A a good scrubbin and I could squeeze the max into the tiniest of spaces. Now it's tougher.

Here's another analogy: If you were to get a new PC, do you get a 17" or 19" monitor? You'd be a fool to get a 17" monitor (no offense if that's what you bought). Why? Because the prices are such that it's not much more for the 19". The MARGINAL cost is very low. Does that mean you take your 17" monitor and toss it, then buy a new one? Of course not. All I'm saying is if you're going aftermarket rims, there's very little case IMHO for the 17". We can get into the rotational mass again but seriously folks, rims are alot for looks, little for performance. Simply going to 235's is not gonna allow the Max to beat an Alero on the skidpad.

no kidding...i went from the stock 15 SE rims ('95) to 18"s with 225/40 and the difference is frikkin nuts! you feel the ruts in the road and on the free way. when i'm pulling out of a parking lot, you feel that little bump that wasn't there before. i don't regret it though. i bought 16"s for my old maxi and regretted that. it looked retarded. but since i'm waiting for my springs, i'm in 4x4 mode

I just don't feel it, maybe you do. I"m not saying you don't feel what you do. imho the Maxima SE suspension is so soft, as is the steering, you don't feel alot just because the tires are now 20mm wider and the profile lower. Maybe what you are feeling are the rims, which are unsprung weight. If your rims are particularly heavy, then those bumps may be able to make it through the mushy SE suspension and you'll feel it. I'm not sure. All I'm saying is it's the cheapest upgrade you can make where you'll feel different about the way your cars look. $1000 and you have 4 new 18" rims and tires--you gotta spend almost $550 anyway when the stockers wear out.

you may be right. it could be in my head. my car feels sluggish even though my rims feel the same weight as my stockers. i'm busting out the scale this weekend to see though.

I don't regret getting 18's one bit. I live in PA, and the roads here are just plain crapy. When I had 17's w/ a polished lip, I regretted not getting 18's. But now since I have 18's, I regret not getting 19's.

I feel the same way. You'll always wanna go a step bigger and better with the way showcar rims, and well-designed (TE37) rims are nowadays. I want 19's rather than my 18s, but I know I couldn't afford em

Yep, that's it. 18's are in the sweet spot right now. You don't throw away your 17's because of that, but could you imagine how much it woulda cost back in 1995 to go from the 215-15 to a 235/45-17? A fortune and that was only +2. Basicaly the price of everything has come down so 18's are very affordable. Your riims are pretty sweet because the trend now is to have more than 5 spokes.

I think 18" is the right size to go with. 19" is a bit too big IMO, unless you're into show. Whether you get 17s, 18s, or 19s, anything is better than riding on stock wheels. That's what I'm riding on, stock 15" SE wheels. Not ugly, but not exactly a head turner either. I kind of like the sleeper look actually. However, I think it's about time I get some new wheels. Now, deciding on what exactly I want is a whole different story. If only I can keep myself from changing my mind all the time.

You need to update your sig pic then, since you got wheels to replace the stolen ones.

well... besides the fact that i have to avoid even a small crack or branch in the road i still love them! I get far more attention on the road now then when i had 17" Monsoons and Im always gettin asked what size they are, too bad i have to say 18's and not 19's(what i wanted originally).

I love my 18s

Besides the point the i bent one before i got my hub rings, i love them. I actually got the wheel fixed today, and finally no vibration.
I dont' regret one bit. I love my 18s and they're big enough for me.
And actually they make my car look lowered.

Anyone love their 17's?

Anyone love their 17's? That's what I plan on getting. I would like to get 18's, but I just can't afford the 18" price for the wheels and tires.

You have TSW Trophys in your sig.

I have the same rims....18's...I f*cking hate them...bent 3 this year alone.

Selling them soon, for 17's. Seattle streets and 18's just don't mix.

I have 19"s and 18"s I sort of think it was dumb to get 19"s because the amount I drive and where I drive means I'm shlttin myself dodging pothole and having to replace tires too often

with the 18"s I'm happy I drive where I wana go and tires arent as expensive... 17"s arent really an option for me with my brakes but I think I would be happy with a nice set of Volks or SSRs in 17"

I LOVE MY STOCK WHEELS. I don't care how fast I am approaching that pothole because I can go right over it. Living in NYC is bad for your wheels most of the time. Sometimes I see how many potholes I can hit in a row

I love my 17's. I had 16's before and after I got the 17's put on my wheel gap looks bigger! I don't know, maybe it's just me. BUT, in about three more weeks, I will have no wheel gap (thanks to Alex).
