Today Eric was driving his 97 Max and his ABS went out. The light is on constantly and we don't know what happened. It is really snowy and Icy here, and he is lowered 2.5" on GC's with 18"s. We reset the ECU from under the dash/center console, but it didn't work. Any ideas? We also checked the fuse in the fuse panel and under the hood. Help!

Last winter...
If I was spinning my wheels or rocking the car to get out of the snow/ice the ABS light went on too. I noticed I can set it off if I spin the tires in snow, hit the brakes till they stop, then spin and stop. After about 3-4 times, the ABS light comes on. It turned itself off after about 50 miles on every occasion.

Quarum is probably right. But on the 3-gens, you have an seperate ecu located in the trunk. It has a led just like the main ecu. It will blink a certain #. You look this # up in your fsm and it will tell you where the error code happened. ie.. 5 blinks means left front wheel sensor.
Turn on car, drive over 25 miles per hour for 1 min. Park car but don't turn it off. Open trunk and look on the right upper side(under the pass side rear speaker). Look for a red led and then count the # of flashes.
this is for a 3-gen, 4-gens might be different.
