FrankenIntake: Dip in Power problem
FrankenIntake: Dip in Power problem
Anyone with the frankenCar intake notice a "dip" in Rpms and torque when you reach around 60 mph? I've noticed since I've had the intake (Im auto) that the car pulls pretty hard under WOT up untill around 60mph then I get this weird "dip" in power and sound. The Rpms dip about 2 checks, as does the Speedometer i.e.: Goes from 62-60 for a second then begins climbing again with no problems. Anyone else have this happen? This is my first intake so Im not sure if this is normal. I ran a search on this but could did not pull up any similiar problems. Anyone?
ive got a berk with a franken pipe. i cant imagine that the filters are that dramatically different. i dont have any loss in any part of the power band. i didnt lose any low end and only picked up up top. when its real hot outside there is a noticeable lag but i expect that.

Look at the dyno charts for any VQ35DE and you'll see it. Franken car doesn't cause the problem. The engine does that naturally. The new intakes just amplify the problem slightly.

yeah what he said... also if your in a 2k or a 2k1 auto you may notice the problem, if in third gear with OD off while at 80 or 85 at about 4k rpms. But to remedy the problem turn OD back on, plus if your at full throttle at 4k and turn it on watch the needle hit 5500 real quick
try that... hel my car might just be wierd...
