I was planning on buying a MOMO shift **** and boot and was under the immpression that the boot threaded directly into the **** for a nice clean fit.

I went to my local performance shop and they said that i need a "collar" to attach the boot to the **** with no gap. that would be an extra $20.

is this true or is he just bs'ing?

Yeah, it's true. The standard Momo boot as well as many others are a "drawstring" type, where you pull it tight, and then tie it. I happen to get a different Momo boot where the screw cap is sewn into the boot itself. It cost me about $60. Screws right into my Momo Short Anatomic.

That is B.S.! I just purchased a momo universal boot and a momo race air leather aluminum ****. I think that there are two kinds of boots. You need to ask for the one that threads into the ****. No extra charge.

momo universal has the collar sewn in
