nitrous jeting question

hi all iam a little confused about the way nitrous jetting works.

i have kit 5124

i need a 100 shot jet size.

what is don't understand is the nos explained article on maxima driver.com says that a .47 jet is 100 shot. now when i went to the place to buy my jet. i was given a .52 jet and told this was the 100shot jet. what the heck is going on which one is it????///

does 70 shot mean around a 70 hp gain???
if so then why does the 50/60/70 hp shots (according to the nos manual) go up in .02 increments and the 70 to 85 shot mean a .09 difference in the jet size.

i am confused.

The main jet size for a 100 shot is the .047. Be sure and watch or check your mix as this is going to depend also on your bypass jet being either smaller or larger depending on the amount of fuel you have available. I hope you have a bigger pump and colder plugs BEFORE you try this.

yeah i have the walbaro 255high flow pump
and i just picked up my 2 step colder plugs. they are denso coppers. ok
so i was unable to find a .47 jet but i did find a .46 jet is that about the same would i need the 2 step colder plugs in *** well. currently i am at 82 psi fuel pressure for a 70 shot i don't have the right bypass jet. the other my biggest fuel jet is a .55 which i am using right now. i know i am running rich right now i will be tunning it somemore this week so i can have fun at teh track on sunday.

You don't really need to go with 2 step colder plugs for a 100 shot, stick with the one step colder and go to a .036 gap or less.

The .047 is supposed to be the 100 shot for the NOS kits. Currently I am running a .046 on my first stage and another .047 for my second stage with a .032 or .020 fuel (vacume tee) jet (when the bottle is full). I wouldn't count on the .047 actually being a full 100 at the crank though.

ok now i have been trying to lower my fuel pressure on the bottle for my 70 shot. i am getting 82psi with a .55 fuel jet. what the heck. so me and a co worker decided to drill a .34 jet into a .84 jet we stick the jet into the bypass tee and i am at 80 psi.

the .42 fuel jet is getting me to 90 psi. what the heck is going on. is there something wrong with the nitrous pressure regulator or the fpr or what.

.036 is that the same as the .36 on inch side of the spark plug gapper????? also kind of confused about this.

im going to be playing with a 80 shot and a 100 shot jet this weekend on sunday. so sould i not even worry about the fuel pressure being at 80psi and after this weekend i am going to leave the 80 shot in the car.

thanks
frank

You might not have it plumbed correctly. Just put the smallest fuel jet you have in and then put a big nitrous jet in to use up the fuel. You want to go fast don't you??

Do you have FP gauges inside the car? And do you have a A/F gauge or EGT???

That 80-85 psi that you were getting is what you want when you go for the 100 shot. When spraying that high of a shot with the dry kit, you do not want to run lean. I would stay where you are at now.

Also, make sure all your vacuum lines are secured with zip-ties. I found a leak in mine that was causing sparatic fuel pressure drops/gains. Good luck with it.
