Interesting discovery on V1 and V2 brackets..
the early gen V1 crickets' brackets were machined! The main plate was machined, and then the bolt holes/spacers were lathed down and then spot welded onto the master plate into place. Very ghetto like in fashion, but lighter. No real belt problems with smaller pullies cuz these bolt spacers were ROUND and smoooth..
V2 brackets were cast aluminum, some bolt spacers are excessively large, thick and RoUGH edges. (think the center bolt that you shave in order to clear a smaller pulley) possibly leading to shreadded belts!
a solution?
get a v2 bracket, and sand blast it until its nearly chrome and smooth... no belt problems, and it'll look nicer attached to the timing chain case..
