Need Advice! Thinking of selling the Maxima...

Well after owning a 5th gen for over 3 years now and putting almost all available mods and then some on it. I am thinking of moving on, the reason is because I want something that is quicker and yet can still be made stylish (with kit and wheels). Preferrably something that is turbo from the factory..Audi..Volkswagon..Supra..or going with something like an RSX or new Civic SI and adding a turbo. What do you guys think.

Or the other option is to just take the air suspenion off and continue driving the s/c maxima until it goes boooom!

I am very confused on this issue and can't decide what to do so any opinions will be taken, Thanks!

Those other cars are a step down in class, but if your gonna do that get the WRX. I had the pleasure of driving a coworkers and I have to admit it's the most fun car I've driven.

Funny that you all say S4 because that would be my first choice. I could make that car haul serious a$$ and look "oh so tight"!

Not sure if your budget is unlimited based on some of the responses. E46 is not that rare anymore, i saw 5 of them Sat. 2 were convertibles. Look nice though.

If cost does matter, you wuold be pretty happy with a A4 1.8T. Will handle like it's on rails, steering will be quite different. It can be modded as well. German or Swedish is definitely your answer, go all the way. Don't get another Japanese car, because it'll be similar to what you have. sounds like you want a real change.

Blake, if you afford it, I say go for it. I want a change too, but financially I can't afford to get another car. So I got to stick with the Maxima. If I could afford to do so, I would ditch the car in a heartbeat.

Yeah, but the S4 is not affordable. The A4 1.8T is (looks pretty darn good too). You get the same underpinnings, quality, and sweet road handling, especially in the twisties. No overboosted steering there!

Blake dont sell the car..its really hot and just because you didnt win nopi doesnt mean anything. I say keep it, mod it and enjoy it..on the other hand if I ever compete then one less car to worry about

Wanting to sell the maxima has nothing to do with not winning first place at Nopi. If I wanted a trophy I would go to my uncle's trophy shop and make one-(Call me William and Pinky I will hook you up! LOL j/k). I am just running out of modifications and I am personally tired of having a non-reliable car. I park it in the garage and drive my 2k1 Ford supercrew on a daily basis. So how much fun can I have boosting a parked car? Plus insurance on two vehicles is way more than what I would pay for insurance on an Audi. And I could turn the max back to stock and trade both vehicles that I have in for a brand new S4 and mod it out the door. Or I would probably wait a little while so that I wouldn't kill the warranty immediately! But I am really liking the idea of V6 twin turbo All wheel-drive 6 speed!!!!

Well...as long as you can find a new 02...seeings as how the re-designed S4 is a N/A V8. I don't know if I'd rather wait for that or try to find an 02 - while there's no easy chip to buy that will just double boost for the new ones obviously, there's some future possibilities with the stock ~340hp V8.

I'd say IS300 and turbo it. If you want bigger GS300 and turbo that or if you want BIG power swap in the JDM spec 2JZ GTE Supra motor which comes standard overseas. S4 is another excellent choice BUT working on those cars is a PAIN and the parts are ridiculously expensive. Lastly the aftermarket parts are even MORE expensive. If you want something cheap to maintain, and reliable and don't want more than 420 HP go get yourself a WRX. I have a wagon I'm selling for $16K OBO and it's super easy to make wicked fast. It's not luxurious but it works.

If you do plan to get a new car Blake, make sure it's a manual this time. No more stinking automatic!

I pretty much have all bolt ons on my 4th gen and I'm about tired of the car. I added the body kit and custom leather, and I still can't get over the fact that the car is front wheel drive. I drove my friends mustang the other day and it was so much fun. I'm now in the market for a Supra. That's my choice, buy a Supra. Those cars are sweet. $1600, worth of mods and you can beat a Ferrari, and the car will have way over 400 HP. They are also very reliable, which I can't say about the Audi. Two of my friends own Audis and both have major electrical problems.
