I have a chance to buy a 2002 SE automatic transmission and a 2K manual transmission for cheap.

My question is, would the 2002 auto trans bolt right in to my 98 Max? I'm thinking since the engine is rated at 255 hp, the trans should be beefier than my 4th. Or go with the 2k manual trans swap?

I can get the other parts i would need from the same car since both of the cars are damage from the rear or on the side.

 

someone help this guy, heh, im curious too. If the gearing on the 2002 automatic is taller in any way, u might get some hindered performance by installing the 2k2 auto, if the 2k manual fits, i would go for that. Ask Dave B about part numbers and such, hes the OE parts guru.

 

Yeah, I would like to know too, for when I do my 5 (or 6?) speed swap.
