3.25" pulley install today

9PSI here I come, I cant wait. Delio is coming over to help out with the install within the hour. Any boosted max's here have the 3.25 pulley on their max, and if so how much PSI are you getting? Right now I have a 3.48 which is about 7PSI but I want more

I always thought 3.25. At least that's what he told me when he came over to swap the belts on my blower. I was kind of curious how 3.25 got 10psi too, and so he took me for a ride and I saw 10 psi at redline every time.

You just got this blower not too long ago? I am seriously puzzled.

No I dont have a 3.125 I have the 3.25. I am already scared to drop one more pulley size. Maybe I should just to boost sooner. One of the reasons I am not is that I drive my car a whole lot more then before so I really dont want to be boosting below 3K RPMs.

I have had my blower on my car for just over 5k miles. I do not know how long it has been leaking but it is still under warranty. Delio strongly suggested that I send it back to Vortech before the problem gets worse and does more harm so that is what I am going to do.

So just be easy on the throttle, I can be at 6000rpms and no boost as long as the throttle is pressed easy.

I don't see how this is possible, unless you are turbocharged, and them I'm not real clear for that either. But if you are supercharged and at 6000 rpm, then your blower is spinning in the upper 40 to 50 krpm, so the blower is definitely pumping air. Now if you are easy on the throttle, then the throttle plate is only partially open, so it's acting like an orifice and you have a big pressure drop before going into the intake manifold. So basically the blower is developing pressure but the full pressure isn't getting into the intake manifold. Okay, I think I understand.

oh yea Kev, Delio told me to ask you if the 705 belt size I have on now for my 3.48 pulley is the same size I can use for the 3.25 pulley?

that is when I get my blower back

Yes, same size. 705 also works on the 3.33 pulley... found that out on Saturday.

I sure hope that the 705 works with the 3.33 since it worked for my 3.48. If it works for the 3.25 dont you think it would work for the 3.33 without thinking about it

Not exactly since the 3.33 is larger than the 3.25 (this applies only if there was no slack while install it on the 3.25). In this case, it works... I wonder if 705 works for 3.60.

I think the 3.60 would have to work for the 705 belt since that is the belt I got stock along with the pulley in the SC kit. I was saying if the 705 you said works with the 3.25 and it worked for my 3.48 which is larger then the 3.33 why wouldnt it work for the 3.33 without thinking.....

also is the 705 belt the same size for the 3.125 one smaller then my 3.25? probably not

I didn't know about 705 working on 3.48 until you mentioned it.

Worked for others. You can go with a 703 belt (Gates doesn't have 700 ).

In most case's the blow off valve remains open until ~5hg in the intake manifold is reached. When it is open it is venting air.

I'm not sure I understand what you are saying here. The BOV stays open until 5" hg of vacuum is reached, at which time it closes and allows boost to build up? So if you drive easy you never get to 5" of vacuum, even if you are at 6000rpm? If you drive at WOT, the vacuum decreases to close to 0 and the BOV closes, right?

Yes, and when the SC has enough RPM's that 0hg becomes boost.
