Rear strut creak

I have 4th gen modified KYB AGX's with Progress Springs. My rear drivers side squeaks over every little bump. It sounds like it is coming from the nut on top. I can stand on the trunk deck and jump up and down and it creaks like crazy.

I tried tightening it, but I don't think it is working. Any suggestions?

a) you need some new bushings

or

b) you need a little silicone spray on those rubber isolaters on the shocks

Wait. Bushings? Aren't those part of the strut? The struts ahve less than 1000 miles on them. They have been doing this since day one.

What rubber isolators? The things that are attached to the car that the spring touches?

There is absolutely no way to get to the top of the springs on my car. There is no give at all in the spring. It is resting VERY firmly against the rubber mount even with the car jacked all the way up.

Are you guys saying to wrap the coil beneath the one at the very top?

Andy, I have the EXACT same problem as you. Did you wrap your springs in the plastic that was on the OEM springs? I am talking about where the springs sit on the perch. I think that this would solve the problem, but I have not taken the time to do this since it will entail taking the strut off.

Let me know what you find out.
