HELP: Only one washer nozzle works
HELP: Only one washer nozzle works
i hadn't driven my car for 5 days, and yesterday when i was headed for school in it, i tried to clean my windshield and only the driver-side nozzle sprayed washing fluid. what could be the possible problem? i can think of two possibilities:
1) something's stuck in the other nozzle (couldn't see anything though)
2) since it suddenly got cold out here in MI, i think some fluid froze in the piping from the reservoir to the nozzle??? is that possible? i have never lived in cold areas (lived in FL and TX) so i dont know.
all ideas, opinions, repair tips are welcome

Try sticking a needle thru the nozzle and see if that clears it. I dont think they make washer fluid with anti-freeze but check anyways.

Antifreeze will eat your paint. Keep that stuff out of your winsdshield fluid reservoir.

Same problem
I got the same problem. Passanger side washer nozzle is only spraying from 1 hole instead of both. Acutally it sprays from the second one too but at a lot less pressure. Not sure what it can be. I think i am gonna replace the nozzle....i tired cleaning it already but i didnt see any result. There are a lot of little things going wrong this car for a japanese car thats suppose to be very reliable....humm.

Open the hood and pull the hose off the nozzle that isn't working. Turn on the washers--if fluid comes out you know your nozzle is clogged. If it doesn't, the hose is clogged.

Sure they do--there are a lot of brands of washer fluid that are made not to freeze. It would be kind of hard to clean the salt off your windshield in a colld climate if your fluid was a solid block of ice.

i recently had a similar problem, except when i tried to spray them, it sorta came out, but it didnt go very far. i stuck a small pin down each hole, and it fixed the problem. i figured that you can also aim the nozzle with the pin by pushing something around inside the nozzle. you just gotta keep testing it out to get it just right. does this make sense? i cant really describe it.
The washer motor pump outlet has a single plastic tube. There is a y-splitter that splits the washer fluid flow to both nozzles.
It isn't too difficult to troubleshoot. Your washer motor is clearly fine since it's spraying on one side.
Disconnect the plastic tube from the nozzle that isn't spraying. (Look it in the eye and ask a friend to spray! - J/K). Have a friend activate the washer and see if you get fluid from the tube - if you do, it's your nozzle.
Get a pin or small needle, works wonders.
I get wax in there all the time when me and my orbital buffer have a little fun.
