Gen 2 LED tail lights *day pics*

It's a bit cloudy outside, but here they are. The fit is almost OEM like. Only thing was the bolts on the outside tail lights were a bit long, the cap nuts would bottom out too early. I used my dremel and chopped off about 3mm worth of threads. The installation was pretty straight forward. I had to apply ample amout of new black slicone to back of the lights since I don't want any water to leak into the trunk. Those old black slicone is just messy to play with.

All the pictures I took are in this album. Enjoy

Those are definitely hot. It thought they would look kind of ricey on a Maxima, but once they are on the car that's clearly not the case. They look mean, in a good way. Now if only us fifth gens got cool aftermarket lights.

Any reason these wouldn't fit on a 95-96? I know they are 97-99 only but I don't think the indentation would matter too much on these. What do you think tony?

is just the indentation that matters? i was looking at my mom's '97 tails and it looks like the bumper, trunk lid, and maybe even the rear fenders are just slightly off. i was thinking about "borrowing" her taillights and giving her mine

I think they would go great with the skyline rear bumper I'm putting on later in the year. I'm just trying to spice up the exterior.

I dunno about the fitment on the 95-96 since I never took a really good at the 95-96 tails.

sorry but.......

i'm not feeling it for some reason. it looks good at night though. it's just the shape of them at the angle and circles coming out to the edge kind of wannabe skyline.
i saw some on an accord b4 and wassn't feeling it either/ they should of been the same shape as the oem flush.

Re: sorry but.......

I know what you mean...from the pictures on procarparts.com, I did not know there was that bulge from the side. I'm just really suprise on the quality / fitment of these. They actually put some design time into making these fit as good as they are. I seen the gen one up close and OMG....those are off as much as 1/16" at some areas. These gen 2's black rubber gasket along the edge of the lens actually sits flush againest the metal body. Overall I'm pretty happy with them.

They seem to look ok on your car, better looking on darker colored cars than lighter colored cars

From looking at the photos the fitment looks really really good!

How long did it take for you to get these from Procarparts? I'm really considering getting these.

I dunno I think they look good during the day and night without the LED ring on...I think the LED ring is what is turning most people off. But without the ring I think they look pretty nice, this pic is a good example of what I mean, like someone said kinda futuristic--->

I think it looks very very good on your car. I think it matches up the best with sterling mist. I wonder how they'll look on a white max.

Hey Tony!

they look good but answer this are you "worried" if the L.E.D.'s are going to last a long time...or fade out or go bad...?

Re: Hey Tony!

Worry...not really. It's like the LEDs in your instrument cluster. Yes, they could go bad but LEDs life span are much longer than regular bulbs. I think it's something 10 months vs 10 years. LEDs draw much less voltage and are super effiecent.

Re: Re: Re: Hey Tony!

I'm not too crazy about the fitment on the gen 1. That's one of the reason I didn't buy a cf gen 1. The fitment on the gen 2 is so close to oem that I was surprised.

As many of you know i am an avid HATER of altezza's, with that being said i will say they look decent to well on Tony's car.

They compliment his rims and whole exterior of his car well, get these tail lights if you indeed have a way to tie these lights in with the rest of your car.

BUT

If you dont they will make your car Oryza sativa, that is RICE
