350z Accident

Hey everyone just wanted to tell you people about a funny/bad accident I just came home from. I'm a volunteer firefighter and we just had a call for a car accident with spill. We rolled up to the scene and it's a two car accident involving an old POS Ford Tauras and a brand spankin' new 350z. Funny thing is that when we pulled up we were facing the passenger side and there was absolutely NO visible damage to the car. The Chief then told the crew to walk around to the front/driver's side and that's when we saw the entire front-end and wheel crushed. My mouth simply dropped. It turns out that the Ford's driver just darted out onto the main road and drove right into the front driver's side of the 350z, completely ripping it off.

Anyways, I was filling out our usual accident forms for our databases at the firehouse, and I was getting information from the drivers of both vehicles. The driver of the Ford was a complete idiot and was definately at fault. So I started talking to the 350z owner and I said to him "Other than the front-end that you're now missing the car looks brand new." He gave me a slight laugh and said "I just picked the car up from the dealership down the block; It doesn't even have 10 miles on it yet and it's destroyed; I've had it on order for like 5 months." I couldn't help myself from laughing, and I just told the guy I was sorry and left the scene.

Sucks to be that guy
I wanted to take his car apart too

Tell me about it. What sucks is that I left my digital camera in my car and I couldn't take pics of the wreck. We were called the scene mainly because the 350z was leaking all of its liquids all over the roadway, it made the biggest mess.

I have a feeling come snow and people who may have never driven RWD before that this could become a little to common.

will insurance give him the full amount for the wreck without raising the 350z owners bill?

I hope so, a Nissan owner doesn't deserve this..but we still get it with the many problems of our Maxima.

Or an even better question: How much will the insurance even give him? Who knows how much (over MSRP?) that guy paid for his brand new Z!

Damn fords... wait, if it was that idiot's fault, then doesn't that insurance company cover the guy with the Z. I'd make that ford p.o.s. driver sell his organs and his family and whatever it takes to bring back my Z to life. Ok, maybe i wouldn't be that harsh.

I can see it now, if that was my Z that I just waited 5 months for

"Well occifer, that guy just came out of nowhere and rammed right into me. He got out of his car, saw what he did to my shiney new Z, grabbed his own throat tightly, made some gagging sounds then just dropped dead of a heart attack, honest .

My friend got a 350Z two weeks ago and last weekend on the party he took my friend for a drive. It was kinda wet outside and I told him to take it easy...

Well long story short, he shifted hard into 4th, got the rear tires loose, rear started sliding, he tried to correct it but there was not enough room, and then boom he hit the big curb. Both wheels were bent under the car. Side air bag and side curtain airbag popped out and ripped the whole seat. Not a pretty site. Not a lot of body damage, but still sucks. It is in the body shop getting fixed now.

All I can say those Bridgestone crap tires they put on the new Z are as bad as our Potenzas. He had the VDC control on too, that should help with understeer/oversteer somewhat.

I don't understand why Nissan put those crapy tires on the Z and G35 Coupe got nice Michelin Pilots.

G35 is 2 extra seats. ~750lb heavier. 8 less hp, and 0.2 seconds slower

and yes.

Some kid young enough for his dad to take it away got a new 350Z? Jesus...that makes me sick. I was quite responsible with my '72 chevy POS. Well maybe there was that one tree...

Yeah it is very easy to get new Z rear out as my friend found out.

Great car though.

Yeah, he shouldn't have had that car anyways. If he had paid for it himself, I bet he never would have been driving recklessly enough to crash into that tree.

Really... I paid myself (well still paying and will be paying for the next 5 years) and I crashed mine...

I can blame it on the tires as much as I want but that curb just came outta nowhere!
