Since when are alternators different from automatic to manual

Since when are alternators different from automatic to manual

I though that the alternator is the same whether the transmission is manual or automatic

They aren't. There's a 100 amp ALT for GXE/GLEs and a 110 amp one for SEs b/c they have foglights standard . . the extra 10 amps.

just more proof that the SE's advantages over the GXE aren't just visual

actually he has it wrong.. the SE/GXE are 100 and the GLE is 110 amps..

The alternators have slightly different connectors also.

You will always find discrepancies. Does his GLE have fogs? If so, then they had to upgrade the ALT as well. Doesn't your GXE have an SE steering wheel? You know it ain't supposed to.
