How to tune SAFC
I am getting an apexi safc soon and I was wondering how people have been tuning them to get the best results? I know some people think it is BS but I have heard from others that it can show gains. Any comments would be helpful. Thanks.

I will say some where in the 10 HP range... depending on what else you have done your car.
So 10 HP worth $300 to you?
If you spent $150 on an intake giving you 5 HP... then 300 for 10 is not out of the realm to me... BUT what is it worth to YOU?
And if you have I/Y/E/VI... I think it would be right on the money... unless you wanted to save for a larger mod

from my understanding there was a 3-5 HP gain through out with 1st/street setting and " about 10 peak HP " on the 2nd/track setting

according to some of the guys on the SE-R boards the secret(if even anymore...) on most N/A Nissan's is to slightly lean out the top-end...personally I'd never try to tune one of these on my own...

I'm planning to get the S-AFC too. Probably my last mod...since I'd want to tune just right with my other mods. I was told by an experienced tuner that I'd see 8-15HP and mileage will increase. He said adding an intake should naturally lean out the air/fuel mixture...didn't ask him about the affect other exhaust components had on the ratio though. Looking at my exhaust tip under normal driving conditions, it appears to run just fine. When I do some constant heavy driving, the tip gets really sooty, probably running rich. Anyways, I was planning on getting the S-AFC if and after I get the MEVI.

yeah the VG doesn't have VTC, but we DO have variable intake...Nissan didn't start being cheap and taking good things off of their motors until '95 and later.(j/k)
